CBSE Improvement Exam 2018

Just like every year, CBSE will be conducting CBSE Improvement Exam in 2018. There are a few requirements for CBSE improvement exam 2018 that are mandatory if a student wishes to appear in one or more subjects:

  • The student must be from CBSE Board (If you appeared in class 12th from other boards, you can apply in  NIOS)
  • The student must be passed in all the subjects and must have a passing certificate.
  • If the student have a compartment in any subject then they must appear in compartment exam first and clear it in order to appear in improvement exam in the year 2018.
  • The student can appear for improvement exam next year only, means you can only appear in CBSE improvement exam 2018 if you passed the CBSE Board Exams in year 2017 (this year).
  • The student must not have any reappears in order to appear in the improvement exam 2018.
  • The student cannot engage in any higher studies in the mean time. They must drop the year and study from home. (We will be publishing specially designed course material and study guide for students appearing in CBSE Improvement Exam soon.)
  • The student cannot appear in improvement exam for any additional subjects. They canonly appear in the main 5 subjects.
  • The student can appear for one subject or all subjects in the improvement exam.

  1. My son was to appear in the in CBSE 12th Board exam in 2017. However, after appearing for the practicals of Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science and theory paper of English could not appear for the other theory papers due to sickness. How and when can he apply for exams to be held in 2018?

    1. I think your son is declared failed because he wasn’t able to appear in theory papers. So he have to again repeat the class 12 from school. Improvement exam can only be given by the students who have cleared class 12. The other way is to go through NIOS but i won’t recommend it. It will be good if he again repeat the class.

  2. I have not appeared for compartment can I directly appear for improvement in 2018 please let me know…..

    1. Sorry, but you cannot. It is compulsory to pass all the subjects to appear in the improvement exam of cbse.

  3. I have passed cbse class 12 in 2017 I want to give improvement exam for cbse what should I do ?
    And I want to give improvement only for 3 subj that is PCm will it work for iitjee and mains ? Pls reply !

    1. No, if you are applying for jee exam then you have to fill improvement exam for all the subjects because this new rule that jee had brought into there system. Please fill the improvement exam for all the subjects you have selected or you will ruin your year and hardwork.

    1. No, if you are applying for jee exam then you have to fill improvement exam for all the subjects because this new rule that jee had brought into there system. Please fill the improvement exam for all the subjects you have selected or you will ruin your year and hardwork.
      But if you are preparing for anything else than jee exam than it depends on you in which and how many exam you want to give improvement exam.

  5. i have got less than 75% in this year and i want to appear jee mains exam 2018, so improvement exam will help me for eligibility in jee or not?
