CBSE Improvement Exam Admit Cards 2015

CBSE has not yet issued the CBSE Improvement Exam Admit Cards 2015 for most of the students who applied for CBSE Improvement Exam for the year 2015. The students who haven’t yet received their admit cards don’t need to worry, CBSE will issue them around mid February. There is nothing to be worried about for your improvement exam admit cards, CBSE is always late with admit cards. We have seen and experienced this for years.

If you have a letter from CBSE regarding your examination center, then you need to inquire your examination center about admit cards. Otherwise, CBSE will post them to your address. JEE and CBSE Improvement Exam – Rules for Improvement Exam set by JEE

In short, students opting for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) can improve their CBSE result by applying for CBSE Improvement Exam ONLY IF the student has applied for all the five subjects. JEE and CBSE Improvement Exam rules are simple and the only exception is in the year 2014. After the 2014 year, the rules will be plain and simple for any student to understand. Read below to know about the rules.

JEE rules for CBSE Improvement Exam 2015:

The candidates, willing to appear in the improvement examination to improve the qualifying
examination marks, will have to appear in all the five subjects for improvement.

The candidates who are appearing in the improvement examination to improve their qualifying
examination marks will get only one chance to inform JEE (Main) Unit as to which year qualifying
examination marks to be considered for the purpose of declaration of final merit. The candidates
are advised to regularly visit JEE (Main) website and newspapers for the notification regarding
above.

Students have to mention in the JEE application form if they are appearing for CBSE Improvement Exam with ‘Y’ for yes or ‘N’ for no

Candidates, who qualified in class 12th /qualifying Examination in 2013 or 2014, and have opted for improvement of performance in 2015 in all subjects are required to bring a Copy of CBSE Improvement Exam Admit card/Hall ticket and submit it to the invigilator at the Centre after writing JEE Main Roll No. on it.

Note- If a candidate has passed Class 12th/ Equivalent qualifying examination from one state but appeared
for improvement from another state, his/her state code of eligibility will be from where he/she has originally
passed Class 12th/ Equivalent qualifying examination and not the state from where he/she has appeared for
improvement.

The five subjects will be taken into account for calculation of percentile and normalization of qualifying examination marks for paper 1(B.E./B. Tech.) and paper 2 (B. Arch./B. Planning)of JEE (Main) which are:

  1. Language,
  2. Physics,
  3. Mathematics,
  4. Any one of (Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject),
  5. Any other subject.

Note: If a candidate has appeared in six subjects in the qualifying examination, the subject (fifth or sixth) with better marks will be considered.

In order to calculate normalized qualifying examination marks following data is considered:

  • Marks of all the students in that Board whose subject combinations meet the eligibility criteria of JEE-Main.
  • Marks of all the students in JEE (Main) – 2015

JEE rules for CBSE Improvement Exam 2012, 2013 and 2014:

NOTE : CBSE has excepted the students who have filled for four subjects for CBSE Improvement exam 2014, however this exemption will not be there next year for 2015.

If you already filled the form for selected subjects and wish to fill for all subjects, you have to send your request for remaining subjects to the board for improvement along with the balance fee to the concerned regional office. Such candidates should send the demand draft (DD) of the balance fee with the details on the reverse regarding their name and address, earlier DD number, date, amount and issuing bank and roll number of 2012 examination along with the forwarding letter stating the subjects already applied for and the remaining subjects to be offered for improvement of performance examination, 2013 to the regional office.

In respect of those students who passed their Board exam for the first time in 2012, the eligibility criteria for
joining any of the IITs or ISM Dhanbad will be 60% marks in their 12th Board or equivalent (55% for
SC/ST/PwD candidates). For those candidates who appear in their Board exams for the first time in 2013, the
eligibility criteria will remain ‘top 20 percentile of the successful candidates’ in their Boards, category-wise. This
will be a one-time exception for JEE (Advanced) 2013 only.
For those students who passed their 12th Board exams in 2012 but are re-appearing in the 2013 Board exams
with a view to improve their performance, 60% rule will apply if they use their 2012 Board exam results and ‘top
20 percentile’ rule will apply if they use their 2013 Board exam results. This too will be a one-time exception for
JEE (Advanced) 2013 only.
